Captain’s Report – 20th August 2019

Since my last report on 9th July 2019 we have played the following games:
Stableford on 9th July with the winner being Denise Johnson (32) to the runner up Margaret Little (31).

The 16th July saw the ladies playing a Single Stableford in conjunction with a 4BBB v Par. The versus par winner was Margaret Little (0) and runner up was Lyn Loveday (-2) on a countback to Margaret Mills. Winners of the 4BBB were Pat Leach and Margaret Little with an impressive (+7), four strokes better than the next pair of Margaret Mills and Christine Tyrell. This day also saw our first Crow’s Nest being won by Margaret Little who won 22 balls from the nest

The 23rd Jul 2019 was our first round of the Club Foursomes Championships. The leading Gross leading team was Pat Collier and Liz Sikora (102) and the Nett leading team was Cath Pank and Suzanne Toepfer with a very impressive (76). The Final round was played on the 30th Jul with the team of Liz Sikora and Pat Collier taking out the Gross winners and Sue Earle and Pay Leach Gross runner up. The team of Sandra Mitchell and Denise Johnson won the Nett with Catherine Pank & Suzanne Toepfer Nett Runner up.

The August Monthly Medal and Putting was played on 6 Aug with the following results:

  • Div 1 – Winner – Sue Earle (76)
  • Runner Up – Pat Collier (77)
  • Div 2 – Winner – Denise Johnson (72)
  • Runner Up – Cheryl Bargwanna (74)
  • Div 3 – Winner – Sandra Mitchell (72)
  • Runner Up – Margaret Mills (72)
  • The Putting medal was won by Liz Sikora with 29 putts

A Single Stableford played on 13th Aug was won by Sonia Clarke (38) followed by Sharon Leslie (36).

Yesterday we hosted Round Robin between, Callala,  St Georges Basin, Sussex Inlet, Vincentia and Worrigee Links. Because of our ladies’ exposure to some very windy days of golf in the past month or so, it has now paid off with Worrigee winning with 99 points over Vincentia 87, St Georges Basin 86, Callala 85 and Sussex Inlet 76. This now makes Worrigee equal first with
St Georges Basin and Vincentia, all with a progressive point score of 8.

Thank you, Pat Leach, for a lovely lunch, to Liz Sikora for the scones, jam and cream and to Pat Collier for all your help during the day.
